Whether you are looking for a comfortable base from which to explore this stunning region, visiting friends or family who don't have space for you, looking for somewhere to break up your trip or maybe even house hunting, it would be our great pleasure to welcome you.
We offer a choice of comfortable bedrooms, delicious continental breakfast, and use of our dining and sitting room for relaxed mornings and evenings. You are welcome to enjoy the peace and quiet of our lovely garden, listening to the birds singing against the backdrop of the Auvezere river which runs past the end of our land.
There is ample parking outside the house in the church square. We also have a large barn which can be used for secure storage of bikes.
We can lend you some 'boules' for a leisurely game of 'petanque' or maybe croquet on the lawn or how about badminton?
If it is activity you are after, please see our 'Things to Do' page for lots of ideas of the many options nearby.
Come evening, you will find a great choice of places to eat and drink, either within easy walking distance, or a short drive away.
Having spent some of my childhood living in France and, more recently, visiting my sister and her family who made the move here some years ago, I began to wonder about moving myself. I'm not sure I would have taken such a big step if I hadn't seen, and fallen in love with, our beautiful Maison de Maitre! In August 2015, along with my younger son, we crossed the Channel and our adventure began! With renovation nearly completed in February 2016, we moved in to our new home. We very much look forward to welcoming you to our little slice of tranquility in the beautiful Dordogne region of France. Tucked away in a quiet corner of the little village of Cubas, part of the Commune of Cherveix Cubas, you will find us next to the historic 12th Century Church and Lanterne des Morts.
English and French spoken as well as some German if my son is home! Free wifi is also available throughout the house.
